MEPCO Connection Transfer 2026 — Change Name on Electricity Bill

When you buy a property, inherit a home, or need to update the account holder name on your MEPCO electricity connection, you need to file a connection transfer request at your MEPCO subdivision office.

Common Reasons for Connection Transfer

  • Buying a property — transfer from seller's name to your name
  • Inheriting a property — transfer from deceased person's name
  • Marriage — updating surname after marriage
  • CNIC correction — updating CNIC number on file
  • Landlord to tenant or vice versa

Step-by-Step Transfer Process

1

Clear All Dues

All outstanding bills must be paid before transfer. The new owner is not responsible for old dues — but MEPCO will not transfer until cleared.

2

Visit MEPCO Subdivision Office

Go to the subdivision office for your area. Bring all documents in original and photocopy.

3

Submit Transfer Application

Fill the transfer form. Attach all documents. Both old and new account holders may need to be present, or a NOC from the old holder is required.

4

Verification & Processing

MEPCO verifies documents and processes the transfer. This typically takes 7–15 working days.

5

New Bill in Your Name

The next bill issued after transfer will show your name as the account holder. Verify it is correct.
